【摘要】:RosinisanimportantproductofthecenturiesoldNavalStoresindustryandisproducedandconsumedinmanycountriesthroughouttheworld.Consequently,reliablemethodsofsamplingandgradingrosinarenecessary.ThetestmethodsbasedontheuseoftheUSDAOfficialStandardsdescribedherein,weredevelopedmanyyearsagoforthesamplingandgradingofrosinandaresimilartothoseincludedintheNavalStoresAct.3AlthoughthesetestmethodsbasedontheuseoftheUSDAOfficialStandardsarestillapplicable,manyadditionaltestmethodsarenowusedtograderosin.Inparticular,thecolorofrosinisnowmorecommonlyreportedusingtheGardnercolorscaleratherthantheUSDAOfficialStandards.Inaddition,TestMethodsE28,D465,andD5974arewidelyusedtoassessthequalityofrosininadditiontothecolorgradingmethodsdescribedinthisstandard.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverproceduresforsamplinganddeterminingthegradeofrosindeliveredincommercialbags,barrels,drumsorinmoltenform.Althoughdevelopedforrosin,thesemethodscanalsobeusedforthegradingofmodifiedrosinsandrosinbasedresins.Note18212;AllrosinsoldininterstatecommercemustbedescribedbyreferencetotheU.S.Standardsforrosin,andisthereforesubjecttogradingpriortosuchsale.Thegradingproceduredescribedinthesetestmethodsisusedforcheckinggradesorregradingaftertherosinhasmovedfromtheprimarymarketstodistributingorconsumingpoints.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
